With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Poss Sr. in Perry, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Poss, Sr. and Rebecca "Reba" Cook Poss; his wife Judith Elaine "Judy" Odom Poss; his daughter Kathy Poss; his son-in-law Rodney Cleveland; his grandson Sam Poss; his siblings, Doris Poss, Loriene Poss, Anna Elizabeth Poss and Benjamin Burton Poss; Jesse G. Poss, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, James E. "Jim" Poss, Jr. (Carolyn) of Enterprise, AL, Christian T. "Chris" Poss of Perry, GA and Melinda "Linda" Overly (Mark) of Bellefontaine, OH; his grandchildren, James Poss III, Anne Elizabeth Poss, David Poss, Jason Overly, Audry Porter, Amber McCarty, Ryan Cleveland and Logan Poss; and his siblings, Tommy Poss and Margaret Eaton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim's family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners, organizations that reflect his compassionate spirit.
