He is survived by: his wife Linda Gothard Roper; his children, Tammy Kilpatrick (Jason), Tracie Martin (Jeff), Tiffany Wright (Tim) and Travis Roper (Shelley); and his siblings, Buddy Roper (Beth), Brenda Dorsett (Jimmy) and Beverly Todd (Terry). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to a trust fund that will be established for the further education of his grandchildren.
