He was predeceased by: his wife Nell Peterson; his parents, Dr. John H. Peterson Sr. and Mary W. Peterson; his brother John Peterson; and his sister-in-law Jan Peterson.
He is survived by: his son Alton Peterson; his daughter-in-law Wanda Peterson; his granddaughter Amanda Ross; his great grandchildren, Katelyn Martin, Jonathan Ross and Wally Ross; his sister Mary Catharine Maze; his brother-in-law Hugh Maze; his great-nephew Christian Peterson; and his pet Little Cat.
