She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas J. Hilboldt and Linda Hilboldt. She is survived by : her spouse Thomas J. Stretch, Jr.; her siblings, Thomas P. Hilboldt (Roxanne), Ann Kateman (Dan) and Cathy Noel (Tom); her nieces and nephews, Ross Vandever (Chrissy), Laura Enlow (Mark), Kristy Kirkhart (Aaron), Nicholas Hilboldt (Katie), Erich VonNida, Michael Kateman, Samantha Noel and Kyle Kateman; her close friend Elaine Bernsen; her siblings-in-law, Noreen and Dan Fishback; her nephew Tim Fishback (Claire); her niece Jesssica Stoll (Mike); her cousin Vicki Weiner; and her caregiver Talicia Mitchell.

Joan had a special spot in her heart for babies, children and the poor, and would appreciate donations to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Toys for Tots, or St. Louis Food Bank.
