He was predeceased by : his wife Barbara Bedwell Barnes; his parents, Edward Barnes and Ruth Knight Barnes; and his brothers, J. W. Barnes and James Barnes.
He is survived by : his children, Lisa Barnes and Brad Barnes (Kim); his grandchildren, Michael Barnes (Desire) and Ellie Barnes; and his sister Arnita Lawrence (late Eugene). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
