Emma Small Sapp Obituary
Emma Small Sapp Wilson, 75, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. Born to the late Levy E. Small, Jr. and Emma Butler Small on August 12, 1946, Emma was raised and lived most of her life in Portal, Georgia. She called St. Simons Island home for the last 20 years. While in Bulloch County, Emma was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro and worshipped at First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island while living in Glynn County.
Emma had an excellent business sense which served her well in her careers as an Insurance Broker/ Health Benefits Administrator for AFLAC, as she dabbled in car sales, and for the many years she owned Create a Cake Bakery in Statesboro. Emma attended Georgia Southern University and completed the Real Estate Licensing Program to become a licensed realtor in the state of Georgia. She was known to have a knack for making people smile with her wonderful sense of humor. She had an intense love for Jesus, her boys, and her beloved cats.
In addition to her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Grover Cleveland Wilson, Jr. and by her sister, Ruth Akins.
She is survived by her sons Jeremy Sapp and Jamey Sapp, two grandchildren, Amber Church and David Timmons, and two great grandchildren. Many cousins and close friends also survive.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home.
The service will be Thursday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend Jody Bryant officiating.
Interment will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
