He is survived by: his wife Lavaughn Souter Lewis; his children, Bonnie West (Alan), Andy Lewis (Kathy) and Valarie Merritt (John); his grandchildren, John Merritt IV (Ashley), Jason Merritt, Dalton West (Blake), Corbyn Lewis and Cameryn Lewis (Samantha); his great grandchildren, John Merritt V and Sophie Mae Merritt; and his sister Mary Jo Hearne. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
