She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Carter and Janie Belle Statham Carter; her husband Jimmy Hurst; and her siblings, Raymond Carter, Pete Carter, David Carter, Harvey Carter, Rufus Carter, Ann Umbarger and Carolyn Howinington.
She is survived by: her children, Dwayne Hurst (Jane) and Gail Dees; her grandchildren, Heather Dees, Brittany Ray (Daniel), Megan Glaspie (Brian) and Patrick Hurst (Kari); her great grandchildren, Gavin Harris, Amelia Harris and Isla Glaspie; and her brother Ricky Carter.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Banks Funeral Home (210 N Main St, Sylvester, GA 31791). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at the Poulan Cemetery (275 E Church St, Poulan, GA 31781).
