It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Capers Wade (Quitman, Georgia), who passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Capers departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Capers may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Capers leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parent Capers; and his siblings, Dorothy Drury, Billy Drew and Julian Drew. He is survived by: his children, Remer Drew (Amy) of Valdosta and Grace Lawson (Allen) of Hahira; his grandchildren, Andrew Kent and Brooklyn Kent; and his brother Selvyn Drew (Beth) of Barwick.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home (908 N Court St, Quitman, GA 31643).
