He was predeceased by: his parents, William Boxx and Thelma Boxx; his wife Zula Boxx; his siblings, Ralph Boxx, William "Buddy" Boxx, Ernest Ronald Boxx, Elizabeth "Kitty" Kay and Jacelyn; and his grandparents, G. P., Inez Miller, James Henry and Elizabeth Boxx.
He is survived by: his children, Marie Forrester (David) of Baconton, Tina Mason (Tommy) of Morven, Millie Hysmith (Rodney) of Barney, Gilbert "Bert" Boxx, Jr. of Barney and Sammy Boxx (Marie) of Quitman; his grandchildren, Nikki, Justin (Samantha), Brittany (Joe), W. R., Branden (Rose) and Autumn (Christian); his great grandchildren, Prestin, Lucas, Paisley, Sarabeth and Karsyn; his siblings, Talmadge Boxx and Frances Weldon; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie, Margaret and Frances. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home (908 N Court St, Quitman, GA 31643). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
