She was predeceased by : her husband Rev. Thomas M. Dews, Sr.; her parents, James Madison Smith, Sr. and Eva Rogers Smith; her stepmother Floerl Enecks Smith; her siblings, Suzanne Smith Belcher and James Madison Smith, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Sherry Mobley; her stepgranddaughter Kelley Hamby; and her former life partner Waylon Mobley.

She is survived by : her children, James Waylon Mobley of Ocilla, Larry Warren Mobley (Debra) of Ocilla and Karen Mobley Burdell (Chuck) of Conyers, Georgia; and her stepchildren, Thomas Dews, Jr. (Katherine) of Amherst, James Dews (Susan) of Canton and Julie Dews of Montreat. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and beloved nieces and nephews.
