He was predeceased by : his mother Lucy Lively; and his brother Donnie Mackinnon. He is survived by : his wife Jane Mackinnon of Reidsville; his daughter Kristen Janes of Avery, TX; his stepchildren, Jerry Allen Harrelson (Denise) of Reidsville and Joanie Cheely (Tracy Arnold) of Reidsville; his siblings, Terri Brooks (Pete Chamber) of Macon and David Mackinnon of Macon; his grandchildren, Laken Janes, Quinleigh Janes, Eric Tootle, Sarah Harrelson, Anna Webb and Angelina Cheely; and his aunt Ginny Webster of Stuart, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
