He was predeceased by : his father Curness Bolen; and his sister Louise Bolen Knowles. He is survived by : his wife Betty Knight Bolen; his daughter Michele Vowell (David); his stepson Tony Silvers; his brother Neal Bolen; his grandchildren, Aaron Vowell and Ashley Jinright (Spencer); his great grandchildren, Ali Vowell and SJ Jinright; and his siblings-in-law, Raybon Knowles, Alfred Knight (Maybelle), Melvin Knight (Edith), Shirlene Smith, Maxine McBee, Linda Brown (Billy) and Janie Thomas (Steve). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
