With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sally Jo W Downer of Richland, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 1, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Bayne Wimberly, Sr. and Sally Pickett Wimberly; her husbands, Daniel Franklin Kelley and Richard Nettles Downer; her son Joseph Brian Kelley; and her brothers, James P. Wimberly and Sam Bayne Wimberly, Jr..
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Lucy Murrah and Ida Kathleen Wimberly Blackburn (Gary); her children, Daniel Scott Kelley (Karen) and Beth Hines-Castleberry (Clint); and her grandchildren, Zane Hines, Bayne Kelley, Bryce Kelley and Wimberly Hines. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baldwin Funeral Home (50 Charles Overby Rd, Richland, GA 31825). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Richland Methodist Church (609 Hamilton St, Richland, GA 31825).
