He was predeceased by: his father Governor W. Wells; his wife Wilma Marie Harden of Keller, GA.; and his son Gerald Wayne Wells. He is survived by: his daughter Pamela Hamilton (David); his grandchildren, Lisa Hamilton Mazzeo (Paul), Allen Hamilton (Allie) and Laura Wells Jenkins (Brett); his great grandchildren, Mya Hamilton, Patrick, Alexander, Thomas Mazzeo and Sawyer Jenkins; his great great grandchild Natalie Smith; and his niece Brenda Wells Tanner (Allen).
