He was predeceased by: his son Rick Velez. He is survived by: his wife Aida L. Baez Batista of Richmond Hill; and his sons, Jose Batista, Jr. (Lisa) of New York, Orlando Batista (April) of Cincinnati and Rolando Batista of New Jersey. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
