He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kane and Julia Kane; and his siblings, Tony J Kane and Susan "Ducky" O'Brien. He is survived by: his grandson Timothy Shawn Kane; his wife Betty; his grandchildren, Bryson and Alana; his son Erick Shawn Kane; his daughter-in-law Pamila Linder Kane; his siblings, Daniel (Susan Kane), Patricia Mongiat, Peter (Linda Kane), Kitty Hayes and James (Vicki Kane); his siblings-in-law, Bruce (Carol Murphy), Martha (Carl Spires) and Joey Murphy; his great-nephew Connor Dotson; and his great grandchildren, Hudson and Nolan Whitt.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for remembrance to take form of a home cooked dinner with your loved ones; as this was a principle to Mike for belief in family being together to share their day, moments, and thoughts together each day.
