He was predeceased by: his parents, L. I. "Shorty" Patterson and Fannie Kate Baxter Patterson; his siblings, Gene Patterson and Marie Patterson Jones Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Ewing Durden, William Dreggors, George Jones, Claude Johnson and Mickey Durden.
He is survived by: his wife Lilla Durden Patterson; his daughters, Paige Patterson Poland (Jim) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Penny Patterson Gregory (Jeff) of Richmond Hill, GA and Leah Patterson Ballance (Dave) of Alpharetta, GA; his sister Novadean Patterson Dreggors; his siblings-in-law, Rudy Durden of Jacksonville, FL and Sylvia Durden of Swainsboro, GA; his grandchildren, Katie Poland, Mattie Poland, Cale Poland, Ben Poland, Josh Gregory (Gabby), Daniel Gregory, Rachel Gregory, Patrick Ballance and Nicholas Ballance; and his great-nephew Joey Wright. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
