He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Axson of Richmond Hill; and his children, Maryanna Axson (Reid Geisenhof) of Athens, GA, Patrick Russell (Rebecca) of Lenexa, KS and Samuel J. Axson (Christi) of Savannah. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
