She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Oscar McKenzie and Carrie Lou Conner McKenzie; and her sister Macy Hendrix. She is survived by: her children, Jackie Merritt, Robert Merritt, Jr. (Debbie) and Lisa Asmus; her brother Joel Lewis McKenzie (Olleen); her grandchildren, Melissa Caldwell (Chris), Brandon Childs (Klaudia), Matthew Asmus and Blake Hollis (Bryan); and her great grandchildren, Connor Caldwell, Morgan Caldwell, Hayden Hollis, Violet Childs and Skyler Childs.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel (2460 GA-21, Rincon, GA 31326). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
