As Gwen departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Gwen. Though Gwen may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Blackburn and Clyde Blackburn; her son Gil Simmons; and her grandson Chris Simmons. She is survived by: her son Scott Simmons; her grandchildren, Roy Trammell and Christy Simmons; and her great grandchildren, Brooks and Ava Trammell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Effingham Memorial Gardens (880 GA-119, Springfield, GA 31329).
