James Jay Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Jay (Ringgold, Georgia), who passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact James had on those he encountered along his journey. Though James may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Jay; and his parents, Gus Jay and Sally Jay (Childers). He is survived by: his children, Brenda McClanahan (Scott) of Cleveland and Tommy Jay (Abby) of Kennesaw; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson, Thomas Jay and Taylor Kennedy. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
