He is survived by: his children, Steve Gates, Cubby Michael Gates, Ronald A. Gates (Wendy) and Glen Gates; and his stepchildren, Rena Caradine (Mickey), Clint Harwood (Lynn) and Connie Lee Maple. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
