He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Roach, Sr. and Marion Lovida Norman Roach; his siblings, Lily Mae Wilson and James Andrew Roach; his stepson Edward Eugene Plott; and his great grandchild Memphis Jude Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Roach; his daughters, Lori Parker (Kenny), Vickie Friddell (Todd), Renee Garner (James), Marvilla Wright (David) and Marion Salvador (Tye); his siblings, Jenny Greathouse, Charles Roach (Pat) and Pete Roach (Darlene); and his grandchildren, Thomas Casteel, Lamar Casteel, Tiffany Yarber (Jonathan), Shea Taylor (Tyler), Michael Wright (Brittany), Talisha Mendenhall (Travis), Tyann Salvador, Jenny Parker, Brooklynn Mendenhall and Will Mendenhall. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
