Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Joseph Barger of Ringgold, Georgia, born in Lexington, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 94, on April 10, 2024. He was predeceased by : his parents, Sarah Barger and James Riley Barger; and his sisters, Essie Young, Callie Kluttz, Geneva Bell, Myrtle Briggs, Gurla Watson, Thelma Koontz (Peg) and Lizzie Wagner (Toots).

He is survived by : his brothers, Marvin, Buck, Jake and Tom; his son-in-law Tim Campbell; his wife Barbara Ann Smith Barger; his sister Georgia Harris; his sister-in-law Edith Barger; his children, Sandra Campbell and James Curtis; his grandchildren, Grant Barger (Alison), Christina McKinnon (Carter), Triston Campbell and Mikala Campbell; and his great grandchild Sterling James McKinnon.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Wilson Funeral Homes - Ringgold Chapel (443 Boynton Dr, Ringgold, GA 30736). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Ringgold United Methodist Church (7484 Nashville St, Ringgold, GA 30736).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Catoosa County Veterans Memorial Flag Fund, in care of Ringgold City Hall located at: 150 Tennessee Street, Ringgold GA 30736, as this was an organization close to Joe's heart.
