He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Burgess and Phyllis Burgess; his brothers, Ron Burgess, Sam Burgess and Michael Burgess; and his brother-in-law Ferrell McBroom.
He is survived by: his wife Sallie Burgess; his sons, Heath Burgess (Kim), Chris Burgess (Stephanie), Matthew Burgess (Samantha) and Jeffrey Burgess (Jerilyn); his grandchildren, Daphne Burgess, Dean Burgess, Dale Burgess, Ross Burgess, William Burgess, Ella Burgess, Turner Burgess and Jackson Burgess; his sister Deborah Ledbetter (Don); and his sisters-in-law, Michelle Burgess, Loraine McBroom and Pamela McBroom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
