Margaret Ruth Watkins Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Ruth Watkins (Ringgold, Georgia), born in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, who passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Herschal Bates and Aileen Sharp Bates; and her brother Lamar Bates. She is survived by : her children, Susan Pike (Greg) and Steven Watkins; her grandchildren, Joseph Bragg, Robert Pike, Hannah and Ansley Watkins; her brothers, James Bates (Kathy) of Rocky Face and Edward Bates (Beverly) of Cohutta; and her sister-in-law Janice Watkins of Ringgold. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to NCIC or The Children's Celebration of Christmas.

“We were so sorry to learn of Margaret's passing. I will remember her for many things. Her positive attitude, her help when I began teaching, her support of our educational organizations. . And of course her love and support of the Georgia Bull Dawgs. She was a wonderful person and her support of Church and community will be long remembered.”
