He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Hale and Dorothy Hale; his brothers, Randall Hale and Alvin Hale; his in-laws, Gordon and Mildred Williams; and his brother-in-law Rick Stanfield.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Williams Hale; his daughter Kim Morrow (David); his sister Phyllis Johnson (Tommy); his sisters-in-law, Mildred Hale and Sandra Stanfield; and his nieces, Joy Stanfield (Melissa) and Kecia Greene (Jeff). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
