With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Jo Smith of Ringgold, Georgia, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on January 31, 2026 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Leon Richard Smith; her parents, William Henderson Alexander and Lacy Lorelle Robinson Alexander; and her siblings, Wallace Alexander, Margaret Alexander and Jim Alexander.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Vinson (Dallas) and Ellen "Eydie" Richardson; her grandchildren, Tracey Cagle (John) and Michael Thomas (Dana); and her great grandchildren, Vivian, Tyler, Mallory and Jack. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tapestry Hospice.
