She was predeceased by : her husband James Fred Townsell; her daughter Linda Eddingfield; her parents, Reece Tudor and Mamie Tudor; and her siblings, Mamie Louise Tudor, Frances Cargle, Mildred Smith and J. W. Tudor.

She is survived by : her children, Janice Dorris (Philip) of Ballground Ga, Carolyn West (Larry) of Ringgold Ga, Randy Townsell (Sharon) of Ringgold Ga and Sandra Townsell of Athens Ga; and her sister Winona Hughes (Billy) of Summerville Ga. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

“Rebecca was a precious lady. She dined at the same table with my aunts at Rosewood, and made them feel welcome from the beginning. I had a special bond with her also, since I’m a retired teacher as well. Rebecca had a heart of gold, will be missed greatly, and loved MUCH! Melanie Poole (niece of the Fletcher sisters)”
