We announce the death of Ruth Potter of Ringgold, Georgia, who passed away on September 14, 2026. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ruth will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Ruth will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Ruth’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Potter and Dimple Marie Potter; her brother James M. Potter; and her nephew Dan Toohey. She is survived by: her sister Waynelia Glaser (Art) of Marietta, Georgia; her nieces and nephews, Kellie Hays (Kenny), Shannon Penegor (Scott), Brittany Wehrman (Bryan) and Morgan Wilson (Richard); and her cousins, Alan Plemons (Janice) and Carolyn Plemons. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and two great great nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church-Ringgold (7611 Nashville St, Ringgold, GA 30736). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Ringgold First Baptist Church (7611 Nashville St, Ringgold, GA 30736).
