He is survived by: his daughter Katie; his son-in-law Jeff Hill; his granddaughter Lily Hill of Rising Fawn, Georgia; his significant other Cathy Horton of Wildwood, Georgia; his former wife Deborah Mathis of Rising Fawn; and his siblings, Chris Mathis, Jeff Mathis (Karen), Douglas Nowlin and Kathy Zerwer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
