With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Rushing of Riverdale, Georgia, who passed away on October 4, 2025 at the age of 66. Though Edward may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Edward touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Rushing III, Lashon Rushing, Sherice Davis (Brian), Shamara Rushing and Eric Rushing; and his sisters, Elaine Williams (Dewitt) and Mary Ann Moore. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Home, Inc. (8968 Fayetteville Rd, Jonesboro, GA 30238). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the Light of Joy Church (7485 GA-85, Riverdale, GA 30274). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at the Glen Oak Cemetery (4301 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
