Kenneth James Harvey Obituary

On April 12, 1958 God sent us a beautiful gift in the person of Kenneth James Harvey He was called to Glory on July 23, 2020. He was named by his Aunt Mrs. Annie L. Bolton Mitchell, the first born of three children to the Late Mr. & Mrs. James & Jimmie Lee Harvey

He attended E. R. Carter Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was 9 & 1/2 years old his father passed away, and his mother and maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Lucy Faust Bolton, lovingly raised him and his siblings in the fear of the Lord. They were members at Greater Springfield Baptist Church, where they sang in the Sunbeam Choir. His mother and grandmother often took the children to A.A. Allen tent revivals, and to services at the Church of Atlanta Lighthouse, where Kenneth and his brother Michael, sang in the choir. His uncle, Lucious Harvey (Virginia), was a father figure to Kenneth and his siblings. He later attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he played on the B-Team Football Squad. While a student there his nickname was “K.J. Rock”. He graduated high school in 1976.

Kenneth followed in the footsteps of his first cousin, Calvin Bolton and Uncle Lucious Harvey both military men, and enrolled in the U.S. Army.

After his military service, while still in Seattle, Washington, the Holy Spirit began to minister to Kenneth. He received Jesus as his Lord and Savior, was filled with the Holy Ghost, and was completely delivered from smoking several packs a day. He had a hunger and thirst for the Word of God. Kenneth was employed with Gould Electronics for many years while employed there he attended Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kenneth married Florine Miller Pinto in 1985. To this union a son was born, Jeremy Ramone Harvey. They worshiped at Solid Rock Ministries and various others. Because of his magnetic personality and of course that beautiful smile, he made many life-long friends. He participated in several ministries, such as nursing home, prison, and half-way homes, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Lord begin ministering to Kenneth about the diamond from the perspective of Gods process in the transformation of old man to new man In Christ. Before a diamond shines, it appears as a rock. When the Lord cuts, polishes and perfects it, it becomes a diamond. From that revelation he founded, “From Rock to Diamond Ministries,” where he lovingly reached out to people nationally and internationally. Kenneth was featured ministering about God’s unconditional love on several television and radio broadcasts. He also dabbled in the music ministry, writing uplifting songs.

Kenneth leaves a devoted life in Christ as his legacy. He was preceded in death by his niece Alexandria Denise Gaskin. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving sons Jeremy Ramone Harvey (Essenci), and Michael Miller; devoted siblings Andrew Michael Harvey, and Gloria Denise Gaskin (Alexander); his precious grandchildren, Jamya Renna Sowell, Khloe Skyler Harvey, Joi Raven Harvey, and Legacy Easton Harvey; his caring aunts, Mrs. Annie L. Bolton Mitchell, Rosie Harvey Carter, and Barbara Harvey Jackson; a special uncle, Lucious Harvey (Virginia), and Willie G. Harvey, and Frederick Harvey; a niece Andrea Juanita Harvey; a special nephew Michael Phillip Harvey and Daniel Andrew Harvey; a great niece Jimmina G. Harvey; a great nephew Michael P. Harvey, Jr, an estranged wife Olivia Ware Harvey and a host of other nieces, nephews, special cousins, business partners and dear friends.
