She was predeceased by: her parents, Hoke Smith and Maybel Hulett Smith; her former husband Darrell Meek, Sr.; her husband Billy Chavis; her grandsons, Bobby Rainey and Zachary Meek; her siblings, Grady Smith, Calvin Smith and Linda Powell; and her pet Little Bit.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Smith of Baxley, Darrell Meek, Jr. of Baxley, John Meek (Jimmie) of Roberta, Danielle Herrington (David) of Hazlehurst and Alberta Perkey of Hazlehurst; her siblings, Pearl Smith (Linda) of Waycross, Sally Pierce of Vidalia and Linda Strickland of Hazlehurst; her grandchildren, Alexis Johnson, Abigayle Meek, Hannah Meek, Austin Meek, Whitney Herrington, Ashley Perkey, Johsua Feller and Dakota Smith; and her niece Teresa Bush (Mark) of Hazlehurst. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home (3 E Odum St, Hazlehurst, GA 31539). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
