She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles William Steele, Sr. and Muriel Rawlins Steele; her husband Harry W. Chappell, Jr.; her son Harry W. Chappell, III (Buddy); her son-in-law Robert Lee Cochran, Jr.; and her brother Charles William Steele, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughter Carol Ann Chappell Cochran of Rockmart; and her grandchildren, Katie Humphrey (Thomas) of Valdosta, Julianna Greenawalt (Jason) of Spokane, Weston Gosa (Amy) of Calhoun, Ian Chappell (Tara) of Stuart, Rachel Ortiz (Kristian) of Florida and Bonnie Schwall (Corey) of Stuart, Florida. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
