He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Willie" Franklin Slaton and Ella Roberts Slaton; his wife Edna Dalrymple Slaton; his sons, Woody Pointer and Britt Slaton; and his siblings, Billy Slaton, Bruce Slaton, Buck Slaton, Fannie Staton, Sue Bean, Corine Knapp and Bertha "Boots" Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Flo Dunn (Danny), Jacqueline McDowell (Corey), Freida Roberts (Steve), Bennie Pointer (Sheron) and Keith Pointer (Myra). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church Food Pantry, 15 Hendrix Road, Rockmart, GA, 30153, in memory of Mr. Slaton.
