He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Willie" Franklin Slaton and Ella Roberts Slaton; his wife Edna Dalrymple Slaton; his sons, Woody Pointer and Britt Slaton; and his siblings, Billy Slaton, Bruce Slaton, Buck Slaton, Fannie Staton, Sue Bean, Corine Knapp and Bertha "Boots" Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Flo Dunn (Danny), Jacqueline McDowell (Corey), Freida Roberts (Steve), Bennie Pointer (Sheron) and Keith Pointer (Myra). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home (304 W Elm St, Rockmart, GA 30153). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church Food Pantry in memory of Mr. Slaton.
