She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Clinton Smith, Jr. and Goldie Mae Morgan Smith; her son Zachary Powell; and her brothers, Terry Smith, Tony Smith and David Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Calvin Powell; her siblings, Donna Sexton, Tim Smith (Patricia), Teresa Geiger (Rickie) and Melissa Huddleston (Wayne); and her sister-in-law Eugenia Smith. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, Inc. (309 Hardee St, Dallas, GA 30132). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to assist with funeral expenses.
