He was predeceased by: his parents, Myles Hoyt Lovell, Jr. and Betty Jo Storey Lovell; his siblings, Dean Lovell and Charlotte Lovell Thompson; his mother-in-law Betty June Jones; and his nephew Franklin Chad Bell.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jones Lovell; his nieces, Storey Katherine Thompson and Anna Kate Thompson Patterson; his nephew Christopher Blake Bell; his father-in-law Franklin D. Jones; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Jones Bell and Randy Bell. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rockmart First Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Lovell.
