He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Wilson "Doc" Abernathy and Venus Otting Abernathy. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ford Abernathy; his daughters, Dawn Abernathy Parker (Todd) and Heather Abernathy Hogan (Erik); and his grandchildren, Steven Parker, Brennan Parker, Tehya Parker, Ashlyn Parker, Serena Parker, Ethan Hogan and Hazel Hogan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Prospect Baptist Church (750 Prospect Rd, Rockmart, GA 30153). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the New Prospect Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Abernathy.
