She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest Pettyjohn; and her mother Myrtle Neal. She is survived by: her children, Kay (Mike Simmons), Kim (Craig Henderson), Kevin (Karey Pettyjohn) and Kent (Pam Pettyjohn); and her siblings-in-law, Hazel Scoggins of LaFayette and Bob Hix of Rome. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.
