She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Broom and Birma Dewberry Broom; her husband Otis Mather Dowdy; her siblings, Billy Broom, Calvin Broom, C. E. Broom, Julia Mathis, Wilma Fitzgerald and Louise Trapp; and her daughter-in-law Martha Sue Dowdy.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Dowdy and Sybil Howard; her grandchildren, Anissa Mundy, Greg Dowdy and Amanda Waits; and her brothers, Franklin Broom and Lasker Broom. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salmon Funeral Home (2516 New Calhoun Hwy NE, Rome, GA 30161). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM and at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Fellowship Church in loving memory of Mrs. Dowdy.
