She was predeceased by: her parent Hassie Cathrine Smith; the father of her children Thomas Billy Montgomery; her husband George Alfred Smith; her sons, Byron Craig Montgomery and Kevin Frederick Montgomery; and her siblings, Dykes Smith Jr., Eugene Smith, Dois Smith Rogers, Reuben Smith, Darius Smith, Vera Mauldin and Leon Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Keith Montgomery (Sandy) and Kerry Montgomery (Kay); her stepdaughters, Patti Ellis and Rebecca Wiggle; her grandchildren, Megan Snider (David), Cameron Montgomery (Alex), Molly Montgomery and Eric Montgomery; her great grandchildren, Elijah Montgomery, Yates Snider, Grant Snider, Casen Montgomery and Scottie Claire Snider; and her siblings, Andy Smith (Sandy), Amos Smith (Esther), Ruth Smith Bailey and Jerry Smith (Terry). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Second Avenue Baptist Church (823 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA 30161). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
