With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Holmes in Rome, Georgia, born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on September 29, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Carolyn is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Carolyn's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Arthur Adams and Willaine Washburn Adams; and her sister Cecelia Adams. She is survived by: her pet Mickey; her children, Gale Webster (Jim) of Columbus and Jill Hughes (David) of Dalton, Georgia; her grandsons, Brandon Cain (Tomoko) and James Webster, Jr. (Shanna); her sibling's children, Cecely Singletary and Tyson Grudisher; and her friends, Sherry Carroll Williams and Nancy Dehart. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fisher Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus (4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
