She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Shinall and Effie Mae Garrett Shinall; her children, Christopher Fortenberry and Cassie Davis; and her siblings, Pat Tate, Gary Shinall, Jerry Shinall, Linda Baker, Nancy Shinall and Robyn Roberts.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas William Walters; her children, Daniel Fortenberry (Angela), Stacy Fortenberry, Tracy Fortenberry, Jessica Mobbs and Doug Walters, Jr. (Lynda); and her sisters, Vicki Godfrey and Bobbie Sue Johnston. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
