He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Cooper and Lossie Lee Striplin Cooper; his wife Helen Marie Langham Cooper; his daughters, Ann Marie King and Ellen Lee Cooper; and his siblings, Gerald Cooper, Elbert Cooper, Dorthy McCulloch and Jane Fincher.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick Cooper and Susan Cooper Comer; and his grandchildren, Jake Cooper, Spencer Cooper, Brooke Cooper, Morgan Cooper, Ashley Lytle, Josh Comer, Sarah Blackmon, Bud King, Leanna Ortiz, Jordon King, Ellie Beard and Joe King.
