He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Charles Schmult and Nellie Maude Schmult; his wife Carolyn "Sue" Schmult; and his brother William Schmult. He is survived by: his son Carl F. W. Schmult; his adoptive son Anthony Schmult; his stepdaughter Kristi Yancey (Christopher); his grandchildren, Ashley Izaguirre (Michael), Brittany Crutchfield (Cade), Courtney Yancey, Delaney Yancey and Ethan Yancey; and his great grandchildren, Samuel Izaguirre and Callie Crutchfield.
