He is survived by: his wife Serena Chastain; his children, Taylor Charles Chastain (Shannon) and Christy Marie Shumate (Slade); his brothers, Lew Chastain (Cathy) and David Chastain; his grandchildren, Dallas Chastain, Dawson Chastain and Lane Shumate; and his aunt Sue Sikes.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Oaknoll Chapel (2542 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens (2549 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165).
