She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel D. Buffington and Mary Manning Buffington; her husband James H. Ayer; and her siblings, Alfred Buffington, Marvin Buffington, Arnold Buffington and Lucile Childers.
She is survived by: her sons, Gary Ayer (Neva) and Richard Ayer (Kay); her grandchildren, Candiss Ayer (Michael Morgan), Jake Ayer (Kayla), Hunter Ayer (Sarra) and Raven Holbrook (Crews); and her great grandchildren, Briggs, Emma and Iyla. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oaknoll Chapel (2542 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A graveside service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens (2549 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165).
