With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clinton Clayborn Payne of Rome, Georgia, who passed away on September 16, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Belinda Payne; his parents, Oscar Tippin and Louise Watts Tippin; and his siblings, Richard, Betty, Elaine, Ellen, Margaret, Johnny, Billy, Roy and Troy.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Justin Ditlefsen and Damon Ditlefsen; and his brother Earl Payne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Salmon Funeral Home (2516 New Calhoun Hwy NE, Rome, GA 30161). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, Georgia 30114).
